Majjiga Mirapakay, also known as Buttermilk Chilies, is a traditional South Indian delicacy made by sun-drying green chilies soaked in spiced buttermilk. This unique condiment is prized for its crunchy texture and spicy, tangy flavor, often enjoyed as a side dish or accompaniment.

The preparation begins with medium-sized green chilies that are slit and deseeded (partially or fully) based on the desired spice level. These chilies are soaked in buttermilk seasoned with salt and sometimes a touch of turmeric, allowing them to absorb the tangy flavors. The chilies are then sun-dried over several days until they become crisp and moisture-free.
